One Half Crown from Hoboken

For many years I've been helping people tell their stories through a rather unusual medium: their last wills. Or trusts, and other related instruments. If you have something to say, someone to influence, some change to effect ... you get a final shot at it with a proper estate plan, even if you didn't get it quite right during your lifetime. I've gathered some pretty good stories, I think, over the years, and decided not to wait until the "end" to share them, even though it's taken me quite a while to get to this. In the context of my work, you see, I'm not a procrastinator ... I'm a model of alacrity. Certainly it has nothing to do with lethargy, or self doubt. Right.

This book has a few themes. Adoption, yes. A regret or two. Mistakes. Skepticism. Some sort of redemption, finally. It's chock full of stories about the people who made me who I am. And a lot of laughs about all of the above. More than anything, I hope to make you laugh. And if you're not actually featured in this book, I hope you see yourself there. And I think you will, somewhere.

Until now, only a few friends have heard what's unraveled in this memoir. I've held back, knowing I could best tell these tales with my pen. If you're one of those friends, I feel certain you will have a better grasp on my eccentricities after you dive into One Half Crown from Hoboken. If we're yet strangers, then I hope these stories will make you a friend.
